Frequently asked questions

I know you’ll probably have a million questions to ask me which I can’t wait to answer in our consultation, but to help you along the way, here’s some of my most commonly asked questions answered for you…

When should I book my florist?

Around 12 months before your wedding is a great time to get booked in. Peak dates tend to get booked up quick, so if your big day is booked for a Saturday in the summer then the sooner you get in touch the better! With that said, it’s always worth dropping me a message to see if your date’s available whether your event is 18 months or 18 days away!

I’d love to see if you have my date free. What happens next?

That’s so exciting, I can’t wait to hear all about your plans! To get a good understanding of what happens next, and my whole wedding process you can check out my Weddings page.

I’ve got no idea how much flowers cost! What budget should I set?

On average, flowers account for 5-10% of your wedding budget. To help you out when planning, you can have a look at my Pricing page to get an idea of what you can expect for your budget. It’s worth bearing in mind that lots of things can influence your wedding flowers cost, such as time of year, your colour palette and your favourite flowers.

Do you have a minimum spend?

Yes, the minimum spend for weddings is £800.

What happens on my wedding day? Do you set everything up?

On your wedding day, I will deliver your bouquets to you, showing you how to hold them; deliver the buttonholes, helping to attach them if necessary; as well as set up all other décor in your ceremony space, reception area or anywhere else we have planned.

How do we secure our date and when do we have to pay by?

To secure your date you will need to return a signed copy of my T&Cs, as well as pay your booking fee. The non-refundable booking fee will be 20% of your total and will be clearly stated on your quote. Your final payment will be due by 4 weeks before your big day.

I haven’t chosen my colour scheme yet, can you help?

Whilst I love helping you develop your colour scheme and finding the perfect combination of shades, I do recommend that you have some ideas for colours before our consultation. This will give me an idea of your personality and the general vibe you are looking for. Pinterest is a great starting point for beautiful reference images!

Do you charge more for longer distances?

I am more than happy to travel to venues that are further away! My mileage charge is £0.50 per mile for any destination that is more than 5 miles from CV11 6UQ, as well as a £10 per hour charge. These charges are applicable for the total round trip.

Can you move flowers from the ceremony space to the reception?

There isn’t a clear-cut answer for this one! Most of the time yes, moving items from the ceremony space to your reception area is a great way to get extra value out of your wedding flowers. Sometimes this may not be possible with large installations or multi-site weddings, but we will discuss the options in your consultation or final planning meeting.

Can I change my mind or add items after I’ve booked?

Of course! I know that things can change from your initial consultation to making your final wedding plans. We will have a final planning meeting 6-8 weeks before your big day, and this is the point you will need to be sure on all of the details, including colour palette, all designs and quantities. If you decide on a different colour palette and would like to see a new mood board, there will be an additional charge.

Do you provide décor or other accessories?

Yes, I have a range of hire items including vases, candlesticks, log slices, lanterns and other décor items that can be hired alongside your flowers.

I’d really love a specific flower, is that possible?

One of the questions I ask in your consultation is ‘are there any flowers you adore and would absolutely love to see in your wedding flowers?’ Where possible, I will always aim to use your favourites, but unfortunately, it’s not something I can promise. Factors that can influence availability include seasonal availability as well as market availability and importing issues. What is more important than specific flowers is the overall vibe and aesthetic that you love and that I will create using a gorgeous selection of flowers!
